How to use
How to use
Pre-freeze the tray
Place it flat (metal side up) in the freezer at about -1°C for 8–12 hours. Pop the scrapers in for the last 10–15 min.
Chill your mix
Keep your ice-cream base cold (fridge-cold). Aim for 120–180 ml (½–¾ cup) per batch.
Set up & pour
Work on a cool bench. Remove the tray, pour the mix into the centre.
Spread thin
Use a scraper to spread to 2–3 mm thickness (edge to edge). Thin = faster set and cleaner rolls.
Add mix-ins
Sprinkle chopped fruit, choc chips, cookies, etc. Lightly press them into the base.
Let it set
Wait 30–60 sec until the surface turns matte and firm at the edges.
Roll
Hold the scraper at ~45° and push forward in straight lines to form rolls.
• If it smears, re-spread and wait another 10–20 sec.
Serve
Lift rolls into a bowl. Add toppings and enjoy!
Between batches
The tray usually makes 1–2 batches per full freeze. If it warms up, return to the freezer for 30–45 min.
Clean & store
Wipe with a warm, damp cloth (no abrasives), dry thoroughly, and refreeze flat.
Pro tips:
Pre-chill mix & toppings for best results.
Full-fat dairy (or coconut cream) rolls cleanest.
Smaller batches roll easier than large ones.
Keep the room cool and work quickly.
